Executive Summary

This exclusive booklet is published in the framework of Financing Maritime Innovation and Infrastructure for Climate and Ocean, an ongoing program led by Blumorpho, in partnership with the AIVP and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Designed as a long-term initiative, the program connects ports, innovators, financial players, and corporates to accelerate the financing and deployment of solutions for a sustainable and resilient blue economy.

The event held on June 6, 2025, at the Monaco Yacht Club marked an important milestone in this journey, convening a unique network of decision-makers just ahead of the Blue Economy and Finance Forum and the UN Ocean Conference. Yet this action goes beyond: it is part of a broader program in which financing frameworks and dedicated instruments are currently under discussion with partners, with the objective of supporting the long-term deployment of innovation and infrastructure projects. This booklet reflects both the insights shared on that occasion and the program’s wider ambition, serving as a resource and an invitation to further collaboration.

Structured around three main pillars: Finance, Innovation, and Infrastructure, the publication highlights:

• Finance: insights from financial actors on mobilizing capital and structuring investment-ready opportunities for the urban-port ecosystem.

• Innovation: spotlights on innovators and startups bringing new solutions in energy, navigation, water, and beyond.

• Infrastructure: perspectives from ports and cities on resilience, decarbonization, collaboration with innovators, and the rethinking of coastal infrastructure.

The next milestone will be the AIVP World Conference in New York in November 2025, which will build on the momentum from Monaco and further structure collaboration across finance, innovation, and infrastructure. Beyond that, Financing Maritime Innovation and Infrastructure for Climate and Ocean will continue to evolve as a platform to align public and private actors, creating new opportunities for cooperation and investment.

By bringing together financial players, innovators, and port ecosystems, the program aims to ensure that innovation and capital jointly deliver lasting impact for climate and ocean.
